Spatial Knowledge Base Server
SKB Server was developed from the ground up to digitally archive and
track documents and spatial data. It is available under an under an Open
Source
license and is supported
and maintained by members of Spatial Knowledge Company and others around
the world.

Development
- Spatial Knowledge Base Server is Open Source. That means very
fast development and bug fixing, and users can customize the software
as much as they like (and, hopefully, contribute the changes back to
the community). Of course, it means also that it is free, and it has no
license costs, so you can install as many servers as you want with no
additional cost.

New Features
- Customizable Metadata: Administrators can now customize
the metadata that they would like to track for sites and documents.
- New Map Viewer: Administrators can configure the
layers, colors, and features available in the embedded maps.
Bi-directional communication allows users to select a region and return
all the sites found within that region. Layers can be turned on and off
and users can pan, zoom in, and zoom out.
- Privilege System: Administrators can now enable
privileges at the user and group level in order to control access to
things like creating documents, editing sites, running reports and
other features.
- UI Enhancements/Usability:This release contains
significant UI improvements in usability and look-and-feel. New
graphics, icons, and layout all the user to more easily navigate the
application.
- PDF Searching: Users can now search PDF documents when
performing searches of content.
- Archive Management: Archives are a way to package
documents into common groups. On upgrade all existing projects will be
converted to Archives and all Document links will be preserved.
- Google Maps Integration: View your sites on maps generated by Google Maps API.
